Hip & Knee Care
Individualized treatment focused on relieving pain, restoring function, and helping you return to the activities that matter to you.
Not every patient with hip or knee pain needs surgery. Treatment begins with understanding the cause of your symptoms, how they affect your life, and what treatments you have already tried.
When appropriate, nonsurgical options are considered first. When joint replacement becomes the right choice, I work with each patient to develop an individualized surgical and recovery plan.
Understanding Hip & Knee Arthritis
Hip and knee arthritis occurs when the cartilage that normally cushions the joint becomes damaged or worn. Osteoarthritis is the most common form and can lead to pain, stiffness, swelling, and progressive difficulty with everyday activities.
Symptoms can range from mild discomfort to pain that significantly affects walking, exercise, work, sleep, and quality of life. X-rays can help determine the severity of arthritis, but treatment decisions should not be based on an X-ray alone. How much the condition affects your life is just as important.
Treatment usually begins with nonsurgical options when appropriate. For patients with advanced arthritis whose symptoms persist despite reasonable nonsurgical treatment, joint replacement may provide significant pain relief and improvement in function.
